uMqulu is a Collection of works by Andile Dyalvane that draws inspiration from the fossilized expressions of ancestral life organisms scribed by nature

and an evolutionary practice of dynamic human story telling, in the forms of markmaking, symbols and lettering.

Using his own channeled archives of ‘Uyalezo’ symbols and printing press paraphernalia both gifted to him,

he pays homage to our spirited cave painter, papyrus scribing, wood, clay, stone carving and calligraphy traditions.

A refreshing lexicon is birthed

and energized using clay, an earthy spectrum of glaze contrasts

and the resilient, civilization storing vessel form.
